How to Make Your Blush Last All Day

It seems like a lofty goal: stay glowing and fresh-faced all day. But you can actually do it by addressing one major culprit - your blush! Make your cheeks pop, and stay put, by layering a powder blush over a gel or stain blush. Yup, it's that simple!

Layering Laws

Start by prepping the cheeks with your favorite base (blur or primer) and foundation. Then, apply a gel, cream, liquid or stain blush. Next, set your cheek color with a powder blush in a similar color. Just like face powder helps to set your makeup, using a powder blush will keep your blush from sweating or slipping off your cheeks. Don't be afraid to start off a little bright, as blush has a tendency to settle in after a few hours.

Here are some beautiful possible blush combinations: Maybelline Face Studio Master Glaze in Pink Fever with Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Medium Pink. YSL Kiss and Blush in Orange Fougueux with YSL Blush Volupté in Rebelle make for a lovely, light peach combo.

Thinking redder? Try Giorgio Armani Beauty Maestro Blush in 400 with Giorgio Armani Beauty Cheek Fabric in 509.

For a purple-pink flush, try Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato: Lip and Cheek Color in Sakura Cream with Shu Uemura Glow on Blush in Soft Mauve.
