Jewel Toned Spring Wedding Inspiration

We know that some brides are looking for some pops of colour for their wedding day palette in this jewel toned Spring wedding inspiration from our favourite Kayla Barker Fine Art Photography shows us how colour can be so effective in making your palette have depth and interest. Merging the modern and the feminine vintage, Sebesta Design used pastel colours as well as richer almost Autumnal tones to liven up this conservatory wedding location which was full of beautiful light...

From Sebesta Design: " When Kayla contacted me to see if I was interested in collaborating on a photo shoot, I jumped at the chance. Her use of light and the way she captures color is wonderful and given that we are moving into fall, I thought we could really turn this shoot into something beautiful. After talking awhile about what catches our eye, we decided the shoot needed to be eclectic, but sophisticated featuring organic textures with modern design elements. Because we were working in the Rockwood Museum's Conservatory, we also needed to bring in elements to mesh the modern and the vintage. And the design emerged: a fall sunset color palette mixed rich modern metals and vintage mint toned furniture and tableware.

Since I'm always looking for something unexpected to incorporate I was so excited to work in jadeite. The milky mint green color, not only stands beautifully on it's own, but also make everything around it pop. The rich purples, the raspberry tones and the gold all played off the mint green creating a delicate balance drawing your eyes up and down, in and out and back and forth. Another unexpected addition I was eager to use was flying dragon fruit branches. The bright emerald green citrus bush with it's gnarly branches featured 2 1/2" thorns and were a bit of a bear to harvest. But in the end they made the perfect addition to the design, giving me the lovely branches to hang place cards from. Ultimately, what resulted from the shoot was a multilevel juxtaposition featuring deep rich jewel tones against light and bright colors, delicate pansies vs. rough thorny branches and vintage elements mixed with modern accents."
