The date of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's wedding won't be broadcast far and wide, but Ellen DeGeneres wants to make sure she knows to be in town when the big day comes.

DeGeneres had Aniston on her talk show for an interview set to air Tuesday and felt obligated to ask her friend about her upcoming nuptials.

"I know for a fact that I'll know when the wedding is, but sometimes, because it is so secretive, none of your friends ... like when we're invited we just go, 'We can't be in town, but should we be in town?'" she said.

"Our friends Sacha [Baron Cohen] and Isla [Fisher] showed up for like four parties, four little gatherings about a year ago, they would show up in beautiful wedding wear," Aniston revealed. "Even like the Fourth of July last year they showed up, and Sacha was in a powder blue suit and Isla was in a little cute dress, and we were like, 'Guys, it's the Fourth of July. We're in cutoffs, we're eating hot dogs. We will actually let you know!'"

DeGeneres, who said she's "very busy and very tired," apparently goes out of town every weekend and admitted there have been times when she asked Aniston if she needed to attend a particular get-together.

"There has to be a wedding for me to stay in town," DeGeneres joked.

Aniston and Theroux have been engaged since August 2012. They have not announced a wedding date to the press, despite a string of tabloid rumors. Last year, the 45-year-old actress told the Associated Press they are in no rush to wed.

"We already feel married," she said.
