Halloween Wedding Details

I'm more of a Christmas gal myself, but many of my friends list Halloween as their very favorite holiday. If you are a bride that loves the spookiest night of the year, why not celebrate it on your wedding day (whether you are getting married on October 31st or not)? From glamorously Gothic to bright and whimsical, Halloween weddings are among the most fun of themed weddings. Here are a few details to inspire your creepy affair.

For your Halloween wedding, a regular white dress might not do. Go elegantly black with a dramatic wedding dress in a ballgown silhouette. This dark and "tattered" wedding dress (above, left) is rock-n-roll Halloween all the way, whereas this gorgeously layered gown (above, right) would have Dracula drooling.

Forget orange pumpkins and use black monograms on white ones. It's a festive and sophisticated touch to add to the entryway of your wedding's venue. Rather than light them from within, surround them with white pillar and votive candles.

Scary cakes can be chic, too. This chocolate cake is frightfully beautiful with its cascade of red roses, gold banners, and perched raven. Poe would definitely approve!

Black is definitely a Halloween wedding must, but it looks lovely when paired with deep purples and reds. This feathery, textured bouquet in shades of eggplant and black is set off by rows of crystals for an elegant effect. Below, Halloween centerpieces can be simple and affordable with the use of shiny "poisoned" apples and vintage candy dishes (below, left). Add purple potion bottles to the display, or use them to serve themed cocktails (below, right).

And, of course, a Halloween classic is a bouquet filled with deep red roses (below, left). Just think how fabulous they will look up at the altar alongside this coffin ring box (Yeah, it's a little dark for me, too. But the heart wants what the heart wants.).

For a more playful Halloween wedding, stick to Halloween necessities like loads of candy (below) and elaborate costumes. Your flower girl will love walking down the aisle as your favorite scary character (all glammed up, naturally).
