If you are interested in wearing a unique, stylish, affordable and eco-friendly wedding gown there are many wonderful designers you should be aware of. These four fashionistas are producing stunning looks for every type of bride, using completely natural fabrics including organic cotton, hemp silk and vegan peace silk. When you purchase a gown that is made in a sustainable way, you not only decrease your impact on the planet, but you support an artist making a difference in the wedding industry. Before you say yes to your dress, take a look at these fabulous 2014-2015 eco-couture collections.

1. Chrissy Wai-Ching.

Chrissy started out as a fiber artist, making hand-dyed silk wall hangings. When she moved into clothing, brides just started coming to her. Her designs are elegant, silky soft and always include unexpected splashes of color and texture. From "something blue" trimming to rainbow panelling running the length of the gown, every piece she touches is breathtaking and unique - perfect for brides who want a spin on tradition while experiencing total comfort. The best part is that most of her gowns fall in the $500-$1,000 range. You can see more of her designs and read a full interview with Chrissy Wai-Ching here.

2. Lindee Daniel

Lindee Daniel weaves together artistic design with exquisite, organic, natural, cruelty-free, fair trade materials & processes. Her motto is "Purpose. People. Planet. Profit." For her it is about more than clothing. It is about supporting the women and men that make silk for her in a sustainable co-op in India. It is also about the natural dyeing processes "used to eliminate chemical exposure to our bodies and environment while preserving ancient art forms." All of her pieces are Fair Trade, made in the USA, organic, vegan and cruelty free.

3. Elizabeth St. John

Elizabeth St. John makes eco-friendly wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses and accessories. Designing is in her blood. She is a fourth generation designer and the daughter of a master tailor. She followed her passion for the environment in college and graduated from the University of Maryland with degrees in Environmental Studies and Cultural Anthropology. After graduation she began a decade of working for eco-focused and conservation projects that allowed her to visit some of the most remote places on Earth before returning to design in 2010 with the launch of her first collection. Her designs are timeless and classic - often showcase amazing hand-beading and flourishes. From Grecian goddess to Spanish socialite styles, her line defines classic eco-couture.

4. Conscious Clothing

Crystal Miller, founder of Conscious Clothing, grew up in the Pacific Northwest where the environmental devastation of clear cutting forests informed her environmental awareness and desire to produce sustainable clothing. She started Conscious Clothing in 1995, creating a ready-to-wear clothing line using hemp fabrics. In the late 1990s, she began a bridal line, and has been focused on providing brides-to-be with beautiful handcrafted sustainable alternatives ever since. Today, she exclusively uses hemp, hemp/peace silks, pure silk, and organic cotton fabrics to make flowing romantic wedding gowns.

Eco-friendly wedding gown designers like these prove that you never have to sacrifice style or comfort to go green.
