One of the best things about working at Neiman Marcus is getting access to the most exciting names in fashion, especially the ones that are new at NM. Designer Tony Melillo founded ATM by Anthony Thomas Melillo about two years ago after a long streak as Style Director of Esquire Magazine and designing for multiple fashion brands. ATM is all about luxurious basics, taking wardrobe essentials like the white T-shirt and the cashmere sweater to the next level with the finest fabrics and perfect fit. Not surprisingly, the collection has grown to a full range of pieces for men and women, including chucky knit cardigans (knit dressing is a must this fall!), luxe sweatpants, and a much-covetable tweedy overcoat. The color palette is minimal and sophisticated, sticking to neutral shades, from black to white and beige tones.

ATM is based in New York City, which made it the perfect destination for our CUSP fashion director, Caroline Maguire, to spend her Friday morning perusing the ATM racks, while trying on her favorite pieces. The clothes and photos speak louder than words, but we were lucky to hear Melillo speaking about the brand's DNA and, needless to say, Caroline is the perfect style advisor, an ATM woman herself. NM: Describe ATM in two words.
ATM: Relaxed Elegance

NM: How has ATM evolved in the past two years?
ATM: So much - from the tees to a full lifestyle collection that adopted that relaxed elegant vibe.

NM: How did your experience as Style Director at Esquire influence your point of view as a designer?
ATM: It was the reason I started designing clothes. Mainly because I did so much work with celebrities that were always looking for cool basics that didn't exist, such as the perfect tees, the perfect zip-up fleece jacket and the perfect chinos.

NM: What type of woman comes to mind when you design your collections?
ATM: The woman I have in mind is someone that knows how to be comfortable and confident in her skin.

NM: Name three ATM pieces that every woman should have in the closet right now.
ATM: Our sleeveless tanks in black, white and heather grey, our Italian ponte pant in charcoal gray and the black yoga legging.

Style advise from Caroline Maguire

What's the most important aspect about a 'simple' white T-shirt?
I think what's MOST important is how comfortable and versatile it can be. Style it with distressed boyfriend jeans, or wear it with a ball gown skirt.

How should we wear/layer a cashmere sweater this fall?
LAYER LAYER LAYER! I am all about LAYERING for fall. Pair the cashmere sweater with a crisp boyfriend woven underneath (button to the top)... and I love it styled back to the ATM silk relaxed pant on the bottom. Relaxed chic.

How would you wear ATM at the office?
One of my favorite looks is easy: a great statement jumper topped off with a cashmere cardigan.

To go out with friends...
Same look, but put on my Celine naked sandals

During the weekend...
Easy white T-shirt, or sleeveless tank with boyfriend jeans and a long boyfriend cardigan.
