A Pink and White Wedding for Childhood Sweethearts

Zachary and Jessica met when they were five.

They grew up together as childhood friends, they fell in love as teenagers, and then last year (to add the cherry on top of their fairytale story!) they got engaged at Disneyland.

Yep, this pair are pretty blooming adorable! If you don't believe us, check out their super-cute engagement shoot by Anita Martin Photography which we featured last year.

And today, we are so excited and honoured to get share the next step in this wonderful couple's love story.

Zachary and Jessica's romantic wedding day, captured once again by Anita Martin Photography, was filled with beautiful blush details, a plethora of blooms, thoughtful DIY details, and perhaps the most amazing spread of cookies we've ever seen. (Over 1000!)

There are so many great ideas and gorgeous touches in this wedding that we know other brides and grooms will want to borrow!

So Pin It buttons at the ready, let's all swoon over Zachary and Jessica's dream day.

Our Wedding

I kept calling our wedding, "rustic elegance." I wanted everything very romantic and soft. In three words, it was emotional, creative, and LOTS OF FUN!!

The Attire

We started the day off in matching bridal robes. Then my bridesmaids wore a soft chiffon blush dress with a sweetheart neckline. Then they had matching pearl colored jewelry. For my dress, I wanted something a little different, but not too different. I wore a pale blush, laced, trumpet gown. I added a belt for the extra "bling" factor. I then jazzed up my accessories for even more bling.

The Ceremony

Zachary and I have known each other since we were five. Because we grew up together, we wanted someone close to our hearts to marry us. Our ceremony was really special, because Zachary's brother, Jason Feuerbach, married us. It was really personal and touching. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Also, Zachary's sister read, "These Hands" during the ceremony.

The Flowers

We had a TON of flowers! I really wanted a soft, rustic, and romantic feel. I was able to use a family friend who teaches high school students floral culture. She was incredible, and without her, I don't know what I would have done. Our flowers included café au lait, dahlias, hydrangeas, football mums, carnations, babies breath, dusty miller and much more! We had three different types of centerpieces and flowers scattered throughout the entire lodge.

Favourite Moments

I have two favorite moments. My first favorite moment was the entire ceremony. I had never been happier in my life. The ceremony site at Forest House Lodge completely stole my breath away. When we exchanged our personal vows, I couldn't help but lose it. That moment will forever stay with me. My second favorite moment was when Zachary and I were able to let loose and party with everyone there. Forest House Lodge does an incredible job at making people have a good time! We completely enjoyed our ENTIRE wedding and it was totally stress free! Not to mention, the bar area is a blast and all of our guests totally enjoyed themselves.

The Photography

I chose Anita for photography because I LOVED how much emotion she captures. You know that old corny saying, "A picture says 1,000 words."? Yeah, I wanted that.

The Refreshments

Our signature cocktails were a silent nod to where we got engaged- Disneyland. We had a buffet dinner that was supplied by Forest House Lodge, as well as our cake. They were the "Mad Hatter," also known as a whiskey sour, and the, "Glass Slipper." Pretty much everything you saw at our wedding was handmade. My uncle built our arch, Zachary's dad made our wine barrels, and many other people pitched in! My favorite part of the décor, which was also the favors, was our cookie bar. It was definitely my "baby." Everyone in our family came together and baked over 1,000 cookies! It was definitely a huge hit at the wedding and I'm very grateful for everyone who helped out with it. I also LOVED our ceremony site. It truly was magical.

The Decor & Details

Processional: "Marry Me" by Train, and then bride walked down to "A Thousand Years" by the Piano Guys. Recessional: "Making My Dreams Come True" by Hall and Oates Bride and Groom First Dance: "I Cross My Heart" by George Straight Groom and Mom: "Mama's Song" by The Band Perry Bride and Father: " Forever Young" by Nora Jones

The Music

Weddings are totally stressful, and not everything is going to go your way. It's OKAY. Don't get caught up in all of that. It's your day and you need to really take it all in, and ENJOY every minute of it. With that being said, Pinterest and Etsy can be your best friend. Spend money on your photographer. It's the ONE thing you will have the rest of your life.

Advice for Other Couples

We can't say how lovely it is to see one of our most memorable engagement shoot couples tie the knot with such a dream wedding day. I just love that cookie bar, and how sweet to have Zachary's brother as the officiant, such a sincere gesture.
