Manolos And Sparklers In The Garden.

Manolos And Sparklers In The Garden.

I'm not going to lie to you, I've been suffering a case of the green eyed monster ever since I clapped eyes on Elizabeth and Manassah's wedding namely because of the exquisite fashion that bride Elizabeth sported on the day itself.

Firstly there are the royal blue Manolo Blahniks as sported by both Carrie Bradshaw and Olivia Palermo on their own wedding days swiftly followed by the bespoke Matthew Williamson inspired feathered evening frock topped off by a heavenly lacy gown by White Rose. Honestly Elizabeth has the most wonderful sartorial taste.

And I haven't even begun to tell you about the florals (you need to see Elizabeth's bouquet!), or the naked cake or the cutesy rustic table plan or the beautiful jewellery made from the buttons of Elizabeth's grandma's own wedding dress.

Oh and there's the sparkler send-off...yep an actual send-off with hundreds of sparklers amongst which Elizabeth and Manassah shared a passionate kiss or two. In my opinion wedding day kisses are the absolute best!

Elizabeth The Bride: We married at All Saints Church in Brandsby, Yorkshire and then hosted our reception in a marquee in a field backing onto my family home. We married here due to tradition as many of my family members were married here and I was also christened here.

We planned our wedding in six months with precision but tried to let our quirky and individual creativity shine through.

My dress was by White Rose; originally it had a high neck and back however it was altered to be slightly more revealing without compromising the elegance of the dress. Embroidered inside in baby blue was the date of the wedding. My veil was made by my great grandmother from Brussels lace and my bracelet and earrings were made from the buttons of my Grandmother's wedding dress. My wedding shoes were blue satin pumps by Manolo Blahnik and my evening dress was inspired by a Matthew Williamson dress. I had it altered and I embroidered and embellished the bottom with crystals and rhinestone flowers. The feather cape was Biba.

Manassah's suit was tailor made by Reiss. All aspects of his suit were unique and exclusively designed by him including the colour, fabric, lining, piping and buttons. Embroidered into the suit jacket were his initials along with the date of the wedding.

The bridesmaids wore Coast dresses and sparkly open toe shoes, a maxi dress version in the day and a short version in the evening.

Our flowers were very botanical, the bouquets and church flowers were garden roses and peonies all sitting in lush bright greenery; the most perfect bouquet I have ever seen! The table flowers were minimal only using herbs, greenery from the garden, roses and botanical plants.

Giant jam jars were filled with moss and leaves where we placed branches which were covered with decorations. We tried to create sparkle by introducing glitter butterflies, vintage glass crystals, pearl droplets and conversational elements like birds and dragonflies; the candles in glass spheres made it all sparkle!

We ate mini burgers, sausages and quiches, goats cheese tartlets, rotisserie chickens, dauphinoise potatoes and green salad with pea and mint. Our dessert was a trio of a mini cheese cake, chocolate mousse and lemon tart. We topped this off with chocolate sponge with buttercream icing as our wedding cake.

We had a banjo and a fiddle at the champagne reception, followed by a seven piece band - The Jive Doctors - and a friend who dj'd for us.

Our aim was to make the wedding as personal and unique as possible. As a print designer I chose to design all the stationery so the theme was consistent from the invitation to the name settings. An old barn door was used to display the names of our guests on strings; on each was a key which had their table number on, the key was also the favour and doubled up as a bottle opener.

A giant polaroid frame was decorated with the same florals as had appeared on our wedding stationery and our names and the date of the wedding. This was a perfect setting for the photo booth fancy dress. Our favourite moments were saying our vows, our first dance, our photographs that were taken right after the ceremony with a bottle of bubbly and lastly seeing everyone we know and love together having a good time!
