George Clooney is not shy about gushing over his fiancee.

Clooney and Alamuddin made their first red carpet appearance together at the Celebrity Fight Night Gala in Italy benefitting the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center Sunday, Sept. 7, in Florence. The actor, 53, was honored with the Andrea Bocelli Humanitarian Award that evening. Newly released footage from the event shows Clooney giving a sweet shout-out to Alamuddin during his acceptance speech.

"I met my bride-to-be in Italy and I will be married in Italy soon, in a couple of weeks ... in Venice of all places," he said. "In closing, I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much and I can't wait to be your husband. Thank you very much."

Although it was a public declaration, a guest at the event said the touching moment between Clooney and Alamuddin was quite personal.

"She seemed so touched and overwhelmed and at that moment they looked right at each other and it was as if there was no one else in the room," the guest told E! News.

The two got engaged in April after six months of dating.
