Boudoir As You Have Never Seen, Raw, Real & Gorgeously At Ease

via

This my dear friends, is not your everyday boudoir and for that I am forever grateful! One of my favorite aspects of the blogging world is getting to know some pretty amazing photographers, and if your lucky enough, actually bond with them in 'real life'. Such is the case with Canadian boudoir photographer Michael Rousseau of Socks and a Smilewho I became Facebook friends with before I ever even saw one image of his. Thanks to the tie that bond us, Photo Field Trip {a multi-day intensive photography workshop}, we connected frequently via Facebook, ultimately meeting in person at the workshop. I should mention Mike also photographs weddings and gorgeously so, however it is only just recently that he has finally stepped into the world that is a true passion for him, boudoir. New in fact that this feature was actually pushed back 3 times! However, much like all things that only grow more grand with time, the debut is here and boy is it worth the wait! Michael's boudoir style is fresh with a completely different take, a different perspective and a different approach. Captivated by the beauty that is a woman in simple day to day life, her natural habitat if you will, shoots are done at the clients home, a place that offers them comfort & ease. The result is polarizing. To say its raw, isnt quite right. To say its real, better defines it. Michael's style & point of view allows the girls to simply be, not over sexualizing the situation, proving yet again that a girl sipping coffee in the morning in nothing but a sweatshirt & panties is the most gorgeous thing there is. What Michael has managed to do is take boudoir to a higher fashion level, stepping away from those that drip with lust crazed sex, yet sensual all the same. Any of these images could easily grace the pages of Nylon magazine today, in fact, I think they should...
