Barefoot Spring Cherry Blossom Engagement | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

One of my absolute favourite things ever is Cherry blossom. When those first tentative buds start to blossom they just make my heart skip a beat. Add to this one super loved up couple, a barefoot bride to be and some serious style and you may just have the perfect recipe for an engagement shoot.

Kim and Lewis fell for one another in the office and are now planning a gorgeous sounding wedding combining their Australian and Welsh heritage.

Thanks so very much to SilverStar Photographic for sharing these beautiful images today.

"Lewis, contrary to my first encounter, has never been one to seek the attention of others. His proposal was just for us and was perfectly natural. It was a Thursday night ( I suspected nothing) in our London home and I was sat arranging our finances and paying our bills when he asked me to join him on the sofa. In some fruitful words, which I will water down, I told him I was clearly busy. But he insisted so I gave in. What he said didn't feel scripted or rehearsed, which makes me feel it was from his heart and as a man of tradition and old world charm, he got down on one knee and presented me with what is now my engagement ring. I wear this ring with complete joy and pride. Lewis often retells our proposal of how he wanted it to be when we were most ourselves. Me in my tracksuit. our two dogs running around and not a care in the world. It was perfect. The kebab we ordered following the excitement was also incredible." "Lewis, was a model for many years however I'm not someone who feels at all confident in front of a camera. So finding a photographer who could capture us naturally was a big issue for us. When we met Michelle and Richard, we instantly clicked and knew they were for us. Their work was a reflection of who they were as people. Our engagement shoot was shot in Warwick near where Lewis grew up and where together we have many memories. Someone was clearly looking over us that day, as the sun was out making me feel as if I were home in my native country. Michelle and Richard just seemed to understand us from the beginning. Having spent the majority of my life enjoying the outdoors, I would have felt claustrophobic being restricted to the walls of a studio and Lewis was able to relax being in his childhood surroundings. In fact, we didn't even notice if there were other people around or that we we're even being photographed. It was such a fabulous experience which also allowed some stress to be relieved from the wedding day as we knew that our photographers knew who we were and would be able to capture that at it's best, when it is natural." "Our wedding will be held on July 12th and we've incorporated both our Australian and Welsh heritage we both fondly embrace. We will be married in the church Lew's parents were married in some 28 years ago in Kenilworth and then put on our dancing shoes for the reception which is being held in a restored stone barn, which is privately owned in Kineton. The barn will be dressed to enhance a rustic chic feel with chandeliers, candelabras and stag heads all being brought in the add to the charm. The excitement is in full swing as confirmation of attendance from both here, Kenilworth, Wales and Australia have been received. Having everyone we love together in one location is rarity but something I'm sure we will treasure in the years to follow."

From Kim "Lewis and I refer to our story as one of pure serendipity. Having moved from Australia and struggling to find decent work, I had decided to move to Newcastle in a weeks time to live with friends. In the week before I was due to leave I caught up with a friend of whom I worked with in Dubai, he introduced me to one of his business associates who was also out that night and who happened to be in desperate need of a person with my qualifications. Long story short I was given the job, cancelled for newcastle plans and instead started a weeks training in one of the company's many branches. Low and behold, Lewis was an employee in that office. I still remember the many faces that came and introduced themselves to me but he looked at me and passed by without a word muttered. I thought he was gorgeous to look at but clearly too stuck up to introduce himself to a newbie and he ' apparently' was too taken by me to fathom a hello. We both laugh now at my message to my best friend saying ' pretty sure a Greek god is working in this office'. Lewis eventually redeemed himself by turning on his charm and we went for drinks the following Saturday... The rest as they say, is history!"

Thank you so so much for sharing guys, I hope your wedding day is totally wonderful :-) XOXO Lou
