Elegant Santa Barbara Wedding

Elegant Santa Barbara Wedding

Julie and Justin's elegant Santa Barbara wedding was overflowing with white roses and peach accents. With the romantic and soft light of the Santa Barbara coastline as their backdrop their day was dreamy and oh so elegant. But, as the sun set over the Pacific ocean and the party lights flicked on, the mood switched over to that of a downtown LA night club! Elegant to dance party in a moments notice. This sweet little lighting change over was a design element chosen by their event designer Alex Events Inc. If this is something you are looking to do - scroll down to learn how you too can achieve the same effect.

From Krista Mason Photography:
Julie and Justin got married on the beautiful breathtaking resort Bacara. The ocean view and cliffs were a perfect addition to the beautiful wedding they had. I love that they had their two dogs walk down the aisle with the flower girl. And WOW, look at that ceremony alter, what a beautiful alter to say "I do" under.

There was a cigar bar on the outside patio during the reception for the groom (his favorite) and guests to enjoy. The ceremony and reception area looked amazing with an ivory based color theme, with wine and Italy infused titles and decor. The inside reception where dancing took place was lit with pink and surrounded with pink and white rentals. The guests were able to enjoy lounging and dancing inside or lounging and cigars on the patio area. A great combination for all guests.

How the right lighting can make a world of difference!
Are you wishing you could have your wedding at villa in Rome or on a roof top of Paris but can't afford the price tag? There's a simple solution, talk to your event designer about hiring a light designer. Their bag of tricks can include big items such a projecting static or moving images onto a wall (say a Parisian skyline complete with sparkling Eiffel Tower) or as simple as setting up saturated party lighting like Justin and Julie's cigar lounge below. Trust us its worth looking into!

But if you are looking to do it yourself, one pro recommends these two tricks:
1. Use lots of candles! Clusters of pillar candles or candles in painted candelabras are easy and cheap lighting techniques.

2. Use colored lighting on the perimeter of the room where it can often look dead if it isn't lit well. Giving the perimeter some beautiful saturated light livens up any event.
