We see a lot of barn weddings around these parts. There's something enchanting about the relaxed feel a barn wedding venue gives and today's celebration at Western Australian venue Alverstoke Barn certainly encapsulates that vibe with it's chic, but laid back feeling. They chose Christine Lim to capture their wedding day - filled with love, laughter and plenty of fairy lights.

Julia tells their story. "We met through some mutual friends and we just clicked straight away and have been inseparable ever since."

Julia and Simon chose Alverstoke Barn for their wedding, marrying on the lawns. Julia remembers, "Alverstoke was the first venue we visited and it was exactly what we were looking for! The venue requires little décor as it really speaks for itself. Charming, rustic and beautifully vintage."

Hearts, Strings & Pretty Things styled the wedding, Julia remembering, "She has the best vintage pieces. All the décor was hired through Sarah."

Julia walked down the aisle to The XX - The Intro Song.

Julia and Simon married under a huge olive tree on a warm 34 degree day. Julia remarks, "Our celebrant Catie Woods ( 0419 871 103 ) is a close friend of Simon's family, so it was really nice that we knew her, and that made the ceremony even more special."

Of their photographer, Julia tells, "As soon as I saw her photos I knew she was perfect! Vintage and soft. Christine is lovely, she was a breeze. I am so happy with the photos."

Guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawns beside the barn, the couple finding an old dingy they filled with ice to keep drinks cool. Julia remarks, "After the ceremony the guests could have a drink, and roam amongst the gorgeous surrounding gardens before heading to the barn, where the reception took place as the sun went down."

Of their first dance, Julia recalls, "We danced to the Lumineers, Hey Ho. It was very relaxed and "us"."
