A Greek sensation! Today on the blog we are sharing a fabulous wedding by Gabriel Pottas Photography. This wedding photographed beautifully and what a stunning feature it is. This wedding was put together by a spectacular group of suppliers. This celebration took place at one of Jo'burg's top venues, Turbine Hall. The video was done by Quake Portfolios, wedding was coordinated by Creative Affairs, decor was done by Extreme Displays. The couple had their dress and suit designed by Diaan Daniels and what a spectacular job he did. Gabriel really added glam to this wedding and really did it justice. Enjoy this glamorous wedding with us and we hope that you will be inspired!

I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met or on how the proposal went down.

I am an MMA athlete and an African champion. On the 20th of November 2012 I defended my title against one of my idols (a really big event for me). I succeeded in winning and remaining champion. During my interview Panayiota was brought into the cage on the pretense she was just going to congratulate me. In front of over 5 million viewers live and around the world on tv I told everyone how special she was to me and what a special role she plays in my sport... then (I feel without her still understanding what was going on) I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife.

Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.

The planning itself let alone our big day was very special. Taking so much time, driving so many kilometers, conducting screening interviews and having to make decisions together for our special day as a future wed couple was so special. We have dozens of funny, loving and unforgettable memories just from that. We were a close couple when I proposed but the planning and build up to our wedding made us inseparable and trust one another more than anything.

My Fair Wedding | Describe an event that you feel was unique or even funny.

The priest that married us was such a blessing. We did not do a dry run and were obviously nervous with what to do and how to do it as Greek wedding ceremonies are complicated with a lot going on. The priest kept making quiet jokes with us and guiding us through everything without anyone knowing. I'm sure people were impressed with how we knew what we were doing and kept laughing/smiling all the way through. The end the ceremony was near and we just had to sign the register. Due to us having so much fun through the usually serious ceremony, Panayiota didn't listen to what the priest was saying and filled in the register wrong and landed up signing for the priest instead of herself.

Don't Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.

Beside for the normal wedding stresses and rush the wedding as a whole went down absolutely smoothly. We had contingency plans for any and every disaster that could have gone wrong on the day besides starting proceedings late. There was only one HUGE problem that delayed the wedding ceremony starting by 3 hours. The lady that put our bridesmaids and both mother's dresses together completely let everyone down with her incompetence. We were meant to be staring the ceremony at 1:30 and Turbine Hall was 30 mins away from the hotel. The dresses were meant to be delivered to the hotel at 8am obviously complete. The dress lady arrived at 11:30 with not even one of the dresses complete. It was her, her mother, a tailor and her boyfriend that made themselves comfortable in the bridal suite. They started finishing the dresses in one of the bathrooms in the suite but by 1:30 only 3 bridesmaids and Panayiota's mother had complete dresses. If it were not for the other superstar suppliers and hotel and even Top Billing staff, I don't know how we would have had the wedding. Everyone kept Panayiota in her room with a constant supply of Moet while everyone pulled together to fix the major problem behind the scenes and in the other room. Diaan Daniels himself completed or pinned the dresses on the girls. Gawie and Natascha from Quake Photography and Top Billing crew kept everyone calm and smiling. And the amazing staff at the Da Vinci especially Laurianne Dreyer brought food platters and more champagne for everyone while running around sourcing everything else that was needed to get the dresses done. I can never thank everyone enough for doing everything in their power to keep the bride from knowing and when she did find out, to keep her calm and focused on 'task at hand'. The wedding and all its planning and contingency plans would have never happened without them. 3 hours were worth the wait though because everyone had only the best things to say about the wedding.

No More Wedding Woes | Share your wedding advice for future brides.

Plan ahead and make sure you don't forget or neglect the small things because they add up at the end. Don't let wedding stress keep you from enjoying what can be one of the best days of your life. Don't forget that your wedding day is about the two of you, so stop and take a moment to appreciate your surroundings because the day goes by so quickly.
