3D Printing Makeup Just Got Real

3D Printing Makeup Just Got Real

via

3D Printing just took another step. Last week I had the chance to engage in one of my guilty pleasures and that's #StyleChat. This is a twitter based chat session hosted by Style Caster which explores everything about style. One of the comments that caught my attention was 3D printing makeup from your home computer. Yeah you read right...printing makeup from your computer.

The comment caused me to pull up the story from Alyson Shontell who reports how Harvard student Grace Choi made it all happen. Choi who was at Tech Crunch Disrupt stated that "The makeup industry makes a whole lot of money on a whole lot of bulls-," which of course led her to 3D printing makeup. With that Choi created her own $300 3D printer which is out of this world genius.

Alyson's story shows a step-by-step on how you can print your own makeup and here is the video as well.

I thought this was a really great story because we have seen how so many fashion tech professionals at Fashion 360 are always looking for ways to be innovative. Choi saw a need and decided to do something about it. The beauty professionals at our Beauty Panel are certainly going to want to know a lot about this innovation and how it can possibly change the makeup industry for those looking to save money.

Do you know or have an innovative way to save money? If so let us know about it. Also see what's happening at Fashion 360 to see how fashion professionals are building their communities.
