Blush pink ethereal bridal session

Blush pink ethereal bridal session

It's back to work for many of us today after a long and relaxing Easter break so we needed something extra special to inspire us. This bridal session from Julie Cate Photography is nothing short of beautifully epic. Forget the Colorado backdrop. This blush pink wedding gown and ethereal accessories stopped us in our tracks. Pleated veils? You heard it here first...

From Julie: "I had been dreaming of shooting in the warm waters of the hot springs since the first snow came in Colorado. First, I found the peach hued Tadashi Shoji gown on Ebay, which was affordable and great since it would most likely get a little ruined. The gown was made from Organza which would flow nicely in the water. The veil was inspired by Reem Acra's amazing pleated veils that were on their 2014 spring runway. With a little hand stitching, a yard of pleated tulle and a gold headband we achieved the look. Jessica and Cathy at Weemala Hair and Makeup were so great in helping us decide how to finish look. We went with a messy bun for under the veil, that could be taken down to have loose curls in the water. For the flowers I ordered some simple genestra. The gown and veil were simple and romantic and I didn't want a large bouquet to take away from the look. The great thing about the gown is that it came with a matching shawl. I knew that I would not be using the shawl, so I used scissors and cut long strips and wrapped the flowers in the fabric. Last thing I needed was an amazing model and a beautiful day. The weather the morning of the shoot was snowy and freezing. We knew the water temperature in the pools at the springs would be warm, but the river was where I really wanted to shoot. We ventured down the rocks and I literally leapt for joy when we put our feet in. The crystal clear water was warm, almost too hot in some areas. The images came out just as we wanted. Lovely, romantic and ethereal. The steam on the water was amazing and the snow in the background was surreal. Any bride can have fun doing something like this after their wedding. Even when the weather is not ideal, the experience can be amazing."
