The New Romantic Issue: The Details

Written by: louise

This month's Style Guide is just so pretty! Are you ready for the details from The New Romantic Issue? All pretty pinks, silvers and soft greens this month's look is definitely for the romantic bride, but with some gorgeous textures and metallic hints it's bang on trend for the contemporary bride too! There's so many gorgeous details in this issue, but the bouquet is a real show-stopper!

Our very lovely Liz from Bluesky Flowers combined soft and oh-so-romantic Sweet and Peach Avalanche roses, Majolica Spray Roses and ivory Ranunculas with silvery green eucalyptus, succulents and tillandsia for texture and detail. Succulents are still a huge floral trend, and I love how this look shows they can add interest to a very feminine arrangement, as well as being a more structured option on it's own.

Itty Bitty & Bijou's stationery took my breath away from the moment it came out of the box! Using a mix of photography and computer graphics, Catharine created a stunning watercolour-inspired design in a gorgeous rich pink. The texture, again, adds a rougher look to the overall design with strong elegant white fonts keeping the look fresh and modern. It all looks fantastic with the cooler grey and silver tones used within the look and especially great with concrete & sparkly textures too!

Ceri from Olofson Design created a selection of elegant treats for the mini dessert bar that took the colour theme of blush and silvery grey to tie them all together. They included miniature meringues dipped in chocolate and silver sugar, cookie stacks piped with buttercream roses, chocolate lollipops flecked with silver, and individual mini cakes wrapped in edible silver leaf. The treats are elegant without being too formal, so they still invite you in to try them. Cupcakes and cake pops weren't right for this look because they are a bit rustic, so we looked at alternatives to this with cookie stacks and chocolate lollipops. The silver offsets the blush colour palette and stops it being too overtly girly. Strawberry and raspberry powders were swirled through the meringues, the cookie stacks were made of zesty lemon cookies layered with raspberry buttercream and the individual cakes were vanilla with champagne and strawberry for a touch of something extra special.

Isn't it all just delicious?
