A Weekend Wedding At Iscoyd

A Weekend Wedding At Iscoyd

via

You know when a bride has chosen to marry at Iscoyd Park then you are in for a treat. The venue is stunning and the service and experience you get from Phil and his team is second to none. We are proud to have them on our Love Lust List.

Elspeth and Marcus had a really chilled out wedding with family arriving for a BBQ in the grounds of the venue on the Friday before. This set the vibe for the weekend, fine foods, flowing wine and a party atmosphere.

Elspeth The Bride: We married at Iscoyd Park in Shropshire. Not only was it beautiful but we immediately felt welcome and at home, the owners were fantastic. There were also plenty of rooms for our wedding party to stay with us over the weekend which we loved.

Gemma from the Secret Spa did my hair and make-up. I didn't have anything distinctive in mind, just classical. My dress was by Jenny Packham. I wore a dragonfly hairclip which was left to my cousin and I by a relative we were all very fond of it. It felt lovely that his presence was there with us throughout the day. I had 4 bridesmaids, who wore dresses from J Crew. I let them choose their own dresses, I didn't want them to be too matching. Marcus had 3 groomsmen, his brother was his best man and my brother was the toast master.

We didn't really have a colour scheme. On the Friday night we had a bbq to welcome everyone who had travelled in for the wedding and we used lots of Swedish and British flags for decoration. Selina at Iscoyd Park did our flowers and did a fantastic job. We were pretty relaxed about the flowers, I just love Hydrangeas so I was keen for them to be included. The key for us was to have a big party so we made sure the DJ had all our favourite tracks and that the alcohol was flowing!

Lots of our guests have said that the food was the best wedding food that they've ever had. Rupert, Lisa and Barry all from Rupert Frazer Worden Fine Dining were fantastic. Marcus is a massive football fan so our table plan was his ultimate fantasy football team. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to do! My advice would be don't worry about the details, we spent lots of time on things like the table plan and not many people even noticed it! Just have fun and try not to get too stressed by anything.

Philippa James was our photographer. We were so happy with our photos and she was great throughout the whole process from the pre wedding shoot to the taking pictures of the bbq to the actual day. She was a very calming influence and great fun, we couldn't recommend her highly enough. Phil and everyone else at Iscoyd park couldn't have been more helpful, accommodating and efficient. Gemma at the Secret Spa and Mike at Holt Salon were a great addition to my preparations and I was really pleased with my makeup and hair. Adam from the photo lounge helped us capture many comical pictures of our friends as the drinks flowed. All the team at RFW fine dining were great and the food was spectacular. Dave Dee DJs were such a good service and they delivered the tunes on the night and Selina did a wonderful job with the flowers.
