Happy Country Back Garden Wedding with an Indoor Picnic | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Sam and Thea had a beautiful summer wedding with a marquee in Thea's parents back garden. With a vision of a happy, country garden home made wedding day they crafted much of their wedding alongside family.

Thea looked beautiful in a dress from Monsoon, the bridesmaids wore duck egg blue dresses from Coast and Sam donned a Moss Bros suit; oh so lovely.

There was a brilliant indoor picnic for guests, a swing band, outdoor games and smiles throughout.

Thanks so very much to Samantha Ward for sharing her gorgeous images with us today.

The Planning Process... Was long...!!! We booked the church pretty much straight away, and because we used my parents garden for the reception we didn't have to worry about a venue... everything else came together slowly but surely!

Budget... We were on a tight budget so tried to keep everything relatively simple or home made... We had lots of help from close family and friends-it was all hands on deck!

We spent a fun afternoon in Moss Bros trying on 'Penguin Suits' before deciding we liked the simplicity of an plain well fitted suit and chose a fantastic suit by Ventuno. We went for the same suit but in a different colour for our ushers and best man so Sam stood out but they matched in every other respect.

The Flowers... My mum and auntie did an amazing job on all the flower arrangements, at the church, in the garden, all our bouquets and big balls of flowers on poles that could be at both the church and in the garden!

The Details + Décor... We decorated simply with home made bunting, dried rose petals scattered on the tables and huge jugs of flowers everywhere. We put out garden games for all our guests to enjoy in between and had a fabulous swing band providing live music. We love picnics and so shared a very informal picnic with our guests, our fabulous caterer handmade individual goodies which were packaged in brown paper and packed into different baskets for each table. Later in the afternoon we provided cream teas and champagne.
