If an artist were to paint an Indian wedding scene, the color palette would undoubtedly have bright colors like fuchsia pink, orange, lime green, yellow or deep, rich colors like purple, maroon, emerald green or of course, the traditional red and gold. These are colors which are usually associated with Indian weddings and hence have been used in every possible combination in order to achieve a ''different" feel. Here are some very unconventional colors for Indian weddings, which would be a refreshing change for you as well as your guests.

Pastel shades are very popular this season. From bridal wear to make up to wedding décor, couples seem to be opting for a light and breezy feel with colors like baby pink, mint green, lavender, powder blue and lemon yellow instead of the traditional heavier colors like maroon, emerald, dark blue etc. People usually stayed away from pastel shades because of the mindset that the light colors would look washed out and not stand out amidst a crowd - Not a pleasant scenario especially if you're the bride! We personally love the freshness of these colors and think they are just perfect for an unconventional but still traditional Indian wedding.

There are some amazing pastel colored flowers available in the market which can simply transform your wedding décor and make it absolutely stunning! If you're still thinking 'hmmm looks good, but still not wow'....try adding pops of bright colors like lime green or bright pink amidst the pastel shades.

An Indian wedding is very colorful and vibrant and colors like black and grey don't feature in many of the wedding color palettes. However a bold and unconventional bride would not shy away from using these colors and make everyone sit up and take notice.

Combining black with softer colors like pink, peach or mint green also looks very appealing and will also lessen the shock impact on your guests.
