Rustic English Hunting Winter Wedding Ideas | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

via

These gorgeous rustic winter wedding ideas are sent over from Colorado in the US.

The idea behind the shoot was to create an English hunting style, think log cabin, cosy fabrics, luxurious colours, antlers and woodsy details. So much inspiration and gorgeous styling.

Thanks so much to Kristina Lynn Photography for sharing her images with us today, here is what wedding planner, Marisa from Feather & Twig had to say about the shoot;

"When photographer, Kristina, of Kristina Lynn Photography & Design, and I got together to discuss collaborating on a styled shoot, we brainstormed two ideas; one being how to tie in a unique theme that would still speak to the Colorado lifestyle. Or, as the PR Coordinator of Todd Reed Jewelry, Naomi summed it up as; Rustic Luxury.We knew we wanted a hunting theme, but felt like camo and blaze orange heels for the bride would be going a little too far. We decided to take the formality of traditional English hunting and interpret it to more of a Colorado luxe style. We chose an outstanding venue, the Evergreen Lake House, as we were entranced by its location, the grand log structure, and the large stone fireplace. Our natural color scheme with browns, tans, pops of deep reds, white, and mossy green florals truly added a sense of regality. We added an animal mount above the mantle with some trophies, pheasant feather, LED candles, and antler candelabras. The crackling fireplace provided the perfect backdrop for plush red velvet chairs, the rustic dining table made of old growth reclaimed wood, a full place setting with real silver flatware, gold-rimmed goblets, and the other star of the show; the off center, centerpiece - an antler chandelier overflowing with foliage greens, arranged florals, and red berries strewn throughout.Our groom donned an Orvis pub jacket, khakis, sweater, and solid red tie with an Ivy cap; he more than complimented the gorgeous bride in her hand made silk gown with patchwork lace, and an original love poem (written specifically for this dress) appliqué down the right side of the over coat. The sleeveless dress proved to be the perfect style for a toasty indoor reception. For outdoor scenes, her hand-knitted opera fingerless gloves and shawl added the perfect accent and warmth for our bride. The organic jewelry topped off the rustic luxury we were going for, and Todd Reed Jewelry went above and beyond with their unique and jaw-dropping accessories. Add in a handmade hairpiece for the bride's special "something new".A red sofa for lounging outdoors with a coyote throw to stay warm, provided the prime opportunity for guests to admire the gorgeous view of the venue. A scotch bar for the groom and his boys provided a cozy corner with an ornate area rug fitting with the theme, old cigar boxes and books, and elegant decanters creating an eye-catching display and a perfect spot to offer up a toast. The sweetest of sweets tables with several choices of delectable treats included sweet almond candies, brigadieros, favors to go, and your pick of one of the three cakes which all tied into our lovely theme; a wood-grained log carved with the bride and groom's initials, a three-tiered cake replicating the design of the invitations, and a simpler, elegant cake. Having a variety of unique stands, compotes, and trays to display the sweets and a few more sprigs of pheasant feathers, pulled it all together.The invitation set the tone of the event from the beginning, with its leather accents, subtle wood grain, and pops of red pattern; it made for a perfect balance of feminine and masculine. You can see the repeated patterns throughout the table settings; in the leather placemats, subtle wood grain patterned napkins, touches of red, and a dash of gold in the simple but classy dishes and goblets. A full setting of silverware and the elaborate menus provide guests with a hint of what's to come.4N Pictures has put together a video of the shoot which can be viewed at http://vimeo.com/4npictures/featherandtwig"
