This afternoon I am over the moon to be having a chat with the lovely Sharon Cooper. Sharon is a wedding photographer based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and having met her myself and seen her work in print I am excited to be sharing a peep of her portfolio with you today plus her wonderful new promo film.

Hi Sharon, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?

Hello I’m Sharon. I’m from Hitchin; I love my town and how much I feel a part of it.  I love London too and travel wherever my camera takes me. I’m a Wedding and Portrait photographer. I specialise in finding beautiful locations, I make things happen! People tell me I have a way of capturing magic moments.

What do you love/dislike about your job?

All it boils down to is wanting to WOW people with the photos I take. I love using my creativity to please others, I love being part of a whole wedding day, getting to know people, whether that’s on a wedding or during a portrait or family shoot. I love it all, from meeting my couples, hearing the plans, the day itself, the happy moments, the editing and the presenting of the images and seeing the photos in print.

How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?

My Dad gave me one of his old SLR’s, I remember an image I took when I was 14 in Paris that blew my mind. When my deaf daughter was about 2 and didn’t speak, I used photography to help her to communicate, it was powerful, rewarding and exhausting. As a form of phototherapy and escapism I undertook an amazing year of self-portraiture. This lead to exhibitions of my work and people asked to book me, weddings followed shortly. It just felt like my reward to be able to do something I love as my job. I’ve not looked back.

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

I love retelling the story of each wedding. It’s a magically charged day that is a joy to be a part of and capture. I make special moments happen. I deliver the special moments and the story that couples enjoy reliving together.

What style is your work?

My images are full of natural emotion; I love colour and clever composition. I love use of depth of field and compose images to hold the viewers gaze. I want to beautiful capture, my subject and present it in a way that intrigues.

Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?

My full day packages are £1450.  Bespoke quotes can be sent once you tell me about your day in more detail, I love to chat it over with you.

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding photographers?

Firstly if you love the photographer’s style, you will have seen a few weddings blogged that you love, so get in touch. Then ask to see a whole wedding, check their blog or facebook page for the most recent work. Then meet for a cuppa and if you hit it off, you’ll know!

Can you quote one piece of feedback you received this year?

Ohhh good question, Lou!  ”Sharon knew the efforts we’d gone to and her amazing images mean we’ll never forget the greatest party we’ve ever had. Through every shot the story was told and the heart and soul of us laid beautifully bare for all to see.”

Lots of couples opt for a pre-wedding shoot, do you do them?

Yes, I love them, for me, we have such a fun time, I love getting creative and making the shoot really about them.  One bride to be said this after their pre-wedding shoot “We cant wait to work with Sharon again and to share our big day with her…we trust her implicitly and I’m just as excited to see the photos as to having the wedding itself!”

How can we get in touch with you?
