Stephanie & Matt’s Colorado Mountain Engagement Shoot

When my beautiful readers get in touch to tell me their wedding plans, it makes my day!  I love hearing why you love reading b.loved, and it’s always such an honour to share the engagement shoots and weddings of the brides we’ve helped inspire.  Bride-to-be Stephanie got in touch recently to share her engagement shoot in the amazing Colorado mountains.  She and fiancé Matt live in the flattest state in the US – Florida – so picked a totally different location in the mountains for their wedding and engagement shoot.  I can see why they fell in love with this place, the stunning scenery really speaks for itself.

Embracing their love of the outdoors, and of course each other, they kept the shoot simple and prop-free with photographer Elizabeth Weitz, from Elizabeth Ann Photography capturing the romance.

Here’s their story so far ~

We went to high school together! Our first class was world history in 9th grade. It wasn’t until our senior year that Matt made his move! At first I wasn’t interested, but one day after my last class (which we had together) he waited by my locker to hold my books and walk me to my car. Not only was that a sweet enough gesture on it’s own, but it was POURING that day. He didn’t even hesitate to walk me anyway, from then on I was head over heels!

It turns out Matt had my beautiful ring picked out five months before he planned on proposing! He chose my birthday because I’m good at noticing when he’s planning a surprise, so he figured it would be perfect. Initially, he planned on proposing on the hot air balloon we were on during the sunrise. After he decided it was too crowded, he took me for a walk and found this cute little dock in a discreet location to pop the question. I was in shock and tears, I hadn’t even looked at the ring. It wasn’t until after I choked up a yes that he was like “Well look at the ring, I did really good!!” {Yeh he did!!}

Being from Florida, we wanted a mountainous wedding. That’s when we found images of Colorado. For us and our family, this will be a destination wedding in a state none of our family has been to! The scary thing is we only had one trip in May to set everything up, and everything else has to come together long distance until June 2014… yikes!! We’re putting a lot of trust in our wonderful vendors, and we look forward to our mountain top wedding at The Granby Ranch.
