Metallic Blush Wedding Inspiration

I’m excited at the moment as we just booked our pre-wedding photo session with our wonderful photographer for next week! I’m delighted but have to say I’m also dreading it a little bit too. I’m pretty camera shy- one example being that the Fly Away Bride “About Us” page has been owed a profile photo for months at this stage. (How hard is it to have one photo of yourself that you’re happy with?!) But anyway, part of the whole point of a pre-wedding shoot is to get a bit more comfortable being in front of the camera and I know we’ll be in great hands with the excellent Rylee Hitchner. So I’ve been throwing around a few ideas about what to wear for the shoot and I love the idea of combining metallics with pastels. My interest was piqued seeing an On The Go Bride wedding last week where the bride had a gorgeous mixture of glittery and blush bridesmaid dresses. It got me thinking how lately we’ve seen an increase in brides choosing a mixture of metallics with lighter almost neutral shades and it just really seems to work so well. I’m loving this metallic blush wedding inspiration as it introduces a glamorous edge without sacrificing that delicate pastel touch. Reflective surfaces or sequins can be substituted for metallics to give a glitzy sparkle without actually using gold or silver. A mirrored table makes a lovely surface for photos of your wedding jewelry or for details such as the perfume bottle below. I love vintage cake plates with a subtle antique design, and just adore the little gold bows on those pink heels. The good thing about this look as well is that it doesn’t have to be vintage, you can glam it up in a modern way with tassels, sequins, metallic splashes or geometric shapes on your cake, or metallic nail varnish. Now that’s something I could definitely try… if I can just keep my fingernails intact before the shoot next week!
