Morning readers! You know something, the photographers featured on b.loved have the most stylish clients!  Take today’s gorgeous couple, Adele & Kenne for example.  Their stunning wedding photographed by the exceptionally talented Catherine Mac, is quite simply exquisite.

They wanted to keep their day fuss-free and simple, which you might think means less work behind-the-scenes, but Adele & Kenne’s well considered choices show it’s all about picking the right details to make an impact.  You might also think that minimal means stark and empty, but their day also shows you don’t have to sacrifice romance and prettiness in choosing a modern wedding style!  Their pared-back white, white and white palette was accented with touches of black and grey.  They created wow-factor using a sophisticated silhouette motif, which appeared not just on the stationery and cake topper, but a gorgeous floor sticker on the dance floor.  Now that’s a detail I just love! 

Adele shares their romantic tale ~

We attended the same high school, but love did not bloom until a few years later. We studied at different universities and travelled a bit and then we both found home in Stellenbosch in 2009. We have not been apart since. Kenne bought our first home for us in December 2011, and 2 days before Christmas I woke up in a house full of soft pink roses and he asked for my hand in marriage in our romantic, summer garden. And I said YES off course!! He designed the ring himself and it was perfect. It was best surprise of my life!

My dress was form Lady Marmalaide and I loved the lace and romantic feel and most of all the diamond shaped back. The shoes and veil was very simple and I kept the accessories to a minimum and only wore pearl earrings.  The dress required my hair in a updo and I wanted something soft and natural for my make-up. I trusted the expert – Marli Basson.  We did not have bridesmaids/groomsmen, we wanted to keep it simple.

The venue was very important because we wanted something specific – romantic, not too big, hidden away in the mountains – and we found exactly that in Tanglewood in Wellington, South Africa.  I found inspiration everywhere, blogs, pinterest, magazines, Izandi (our wedding planner) and my husband. It was very important for me to keep the style of the wedding true to us – I loved The Pretty Blog!  The décor was very simple and elegant, there wasn’t a lot of detail or DIY.  We used lots of different flowers and textures, but all white. Roses, orchids, lilies etc.   We did make up little gifts for the guests at the end of the night for the next morning, which they loved.

We really spent a lot of time looking for the perfect photographer because we wanted the pictures to reflect our personalities and capture that special moments forever. I came across Catherine Mac’s website and fell in love with her work. She was almost fully booked for the season, but had our date open. It was truly meant to be.

Definitely walking down the aisle with my dad looking for my future husband and then seeing his face. He looked so proud, happy and in love. I will remember that moment forever.

advice

Looking back, there probably are little things I would change, but we are very proud of our day and enjoyed every minute. My advice would be not to sweat the small stuff and fully enjoy every minute of the love and blessings showered on you that day. Myself and Kenne planned and dreamed together in the months leading up to the wedding, and that was really special. Keep your wedding day true to your personality and remember what it is really about.
